Where to Enter Your Fizz Referral Code
- Copy the referral code Copy the code shown on this page (Copy button in the code bar). Keep it handy: Fizz offers no link that applies it automatically — you'll paste it into checkout yourself.
- Build your plan on fizz.ca On fizz.ca, build your mobile plan (or Internet, Quebec only). For the referral bonus to qualify, the plan must cost at least $20 per month before taxes, after discounts.
- Choose eSIM or physical SIM The eSIM is free and instant; the physical card ships by mail. Either way, activation is 100% online with no activation fee.
- Enter your payment details Create your account and proceed to checkout. The code field is not at the start of the flow: it comes after the payment section — keep going to the last page before confirmation.
- Paste the code before submitting the order On the page that follows payment, right before final submission, sits the single code field. Paste the referral code there. Careful: it's the same field used for promo codes — one code only, you have to choose.
- Physical SIM: confirm the code at SIM activation If you ordered a physical SIM, the code entered at ordering can be confirmed or corrected when you activate the SIM. That's the last opportunity: once activated, Fizz can no longer apply anything.
One field, at the very end of checkout
Fizz doesn’t ask for the referral code at the start of the purchase flow. Per Fizz’s official FAQ, the field appears “on the page that appears after payment” — in other words, after your payment details and just before you submit the order (fizz.ca/en/invite-friends: “Enter the referral code in the field provided before submitting your order”).
Two practical consequences:
- Don’t hunt for the field too early. It’s not in the plan builder and not at account creation. Proceed through checkout normally; it shows up at the end.
- Don’t submit the order without it. Once your first Fizz service is ordered and activated, there is no recourse: Fizz never applies a code retroactively, and the field doesn’t reappear for a second service.
The mobile walkthrough, step by step
The detailed steps are above, but the essence fits in one line: build the plan, pay, then paste the code on the last page before confirming. Three points deserve a closer look:
The $20 threshold. The bonus requires a plan of at least $20 per month, before taxes and after discounts. Nearly every data plan clears it; if you’re eyeing a bare-bones plan, check the final price against the current plans.
eSIM or physical card. With the (free) eSIM, ordering and activation happen back to back — the code entered at checkout does the job. With a physical card there’s a second useful moment: at SIM activation, Fizz lets you confirm or change the code entered at ordering. That’s a safety net, not a second chance after the fact — once the line is active, it’s over.
Home Internet (Quebec only). Same principle: the code goes in before you submit the Internet order. One official detail that stings: if an order is cancelled before activation, the code can’t be applied to a replacement order. And if you plan to get both mobile and Internet, the field only exists for your first service — put the code on that one. More on the Fizz Internet side.
The single-field trap: referral OR promo
The referral-code field is the same field as the promo-code field. There’s only one, and it takes exactly one code. Using a promo code (for example TRAIN, the GO Transit partnership code in Ontario) means giving up the $25 referral bonus — and vice versa. That’s not a bug; it’s the official rule. We break down when each option wins in promo code vs referral code.
No magic link
Some carriers let a URL apply a referral code for you. Not Fizz. No link — ours, a friend’s, or a coupon site’s — can pre-fill the field. The only mechanism that exists: copy the code, paste it into the field. Be wary of sites promising an “automatic invite link”; at best they land you on fizz.ca with nothing applied.
What you get, and when
The bonus is $25, applied as a credit on your upcoming payments once you complete two months of service — in practice, around the third bill. Nothing shows up at checkout or on the first bill: sites promising an “instant credit” are wrong. Both parties must still have an active plan at that moment. The credit is non-refundable, non-transferable, and can’t be used to buy a phone. Some of fizz.ca’s regional pages currently advertise $40 outside Quebec while the official program page says $25 everywhere — we track that contradiction closely in $25 or $40 bonus.
Bottom line
Copy the code on this page, run through checkout on fizz.ca, and paste it into the field on the last page, before submitting. That’s it — and it’s the only way.
Disclosure, as Fizz requires: when you use the code on this page, we receive the referrer’s side of the bonus. A friend’s code would pay that friend instead — your own $25 is identical either way. Our method is documented in how we verify and how we earn.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add the referral code after activation?
No. Fizz's FAQ is blunt: a forgotten code cannot be applied retroactively, and the field doesn't even appear when you add a second service. This is the one genuine way to lose the bonus — details in what to do after activation.
Is the referral-code field the same field as promo codes?
Yes — it's one and the same field, and it takes exactly one code. You cannot stack a promo code (like GO Transit's TRAIN) with a referral code: you have to pick. We compare the two in promo code vs referral code.
Is there a link that applies the code automatically?
No. Unlike some carriers, Fizz has no referral-link mechanism: no URL can pre-fill the field. Any site claiming otherwise is wrong. You copy the code, then type or paste it into the checkout field yourself.
What if the field rejects my code?
A code is rejected if it's gone inactive (its owner cancelled all their services) or if this isn't your first Fizz service. As long as you haven't submitted the order, just try another code — see the troubleshooting guide.
How much do I get, and when?
A guaranteed $25, applied as a credit on your payments once you complete two months of service (around the 3rd bill) — never at checkout. Some of Fizz's regional pages advertise $40 outside Quebec; we track that in $25 or $40 bonus.
